FAQ`s

The color temperature sensor is located at the letter “O” on the Action 3 nameplate. Do not cover the letter “O” when holding the camera. With the help of the color temperature sensor, Action 3 can obtain better color temperature performance in complex lighting scenarios. For example, when diving, it can correct the color temperature underwater, so the color temperature will not change when the camera angle changes. In addition, the sensor allows the camera to more accurately detect and reduce the stroboscopic effect in the shooting environment.

There are altogether 3 microphones on Action 3, with 2 at the nameplate and 1 on the right side of the camera bottom panel (with the front touchscreen facing toward the operator).

Charging method 1: Charge the camera via the USB-C port. Action 3 supports PPS/PD fast charging protocol, and up to 23 W fast charge.
Charging method 2: Use the Osmo Action 3 Multifunctional Battery Case for battery charging, support PPS/PD fast charging protocol, and the battery supports up to 23W fast charging.

Note:
1. It is recommended to use the DJI 30W charger for charging.
2. Charge using a charger that supports PD/PPS fast charging protocol, and up to 23W fast charging is supported.

When using DJI 30W USB-C Charger, it takes 20 minutes to charge the camera from 0% to 80%, and 49 minutes to fully charge it.
When using DJI 30W USB-C Charger and the Multifunctional Battery Case to charge the three batteries, it takes 56 minutes to charge them all to 80%, and 120 minutes to fully charge them.
After a battery is charged to 80%, it will then be fully charged by trickle charging.
Note: Trickle charging means charging a device using a tiny current, thus ensuring that the battery is truly saturated and thereby extend the battery life.

Action 3 supports recording in the charging state. However, it may heat up during charging, and thus stop filming when shooting videos with a high frame rate. The charging process may also stop if the camera is noticeably overheating. It is recommended to charge the camera in a 5 to 40℃ environment. In addition, using the camera during charging will affect the battery life. It is recommended to power off the camera for charging, and to use it after it is fully charged.

To ensure stable video footage in low-light/dark environment, it is recommended to use the device following the steps below.
1. Enable "Low light stabilization" mode (with PRO mode disabled).
2. Try to hold the camera stably when shooting.
3. Try to shoot in a bright environment.
4. Choose M mode in “Exposure”, and set ISO to 100-12800, and shutter speed to at least 1/200s, as in, 1/200, 1/400, and 1/500. That is, the faster the shutter speed, the better.
